US General Education Development (GED) Tests
Five multiple-choice tests designed to investigate correctness and effectiveness of expression, interpretation of reading materials in the natural sciences, interpretation of literary materials, and general mathematical ability. Adults who have not completed work for a high school diploma may earn a high school equivalency certificate or diploma by means of the GED provided they achieve an average GED score of 45. These equivalency awards are accepted in lieu of a high school transcript by most institutions of higher education.
